Regarding typos corrected in the Phase I 2008 Study Guide.

1)  Question # 331 - Which of the following statements does NOT apply to a latent defect? (the exam guide says the answer is # 2, which is "a situation where caveat emptor applies") 

On page 10-66 (Phase 1 Book 2) it says that caveat emptor applies to latent defects. 

Answer: You are absolutely correct and the answer #2 has been corrected to read ... "a situation where caveat emptor applies to clients" which we know is an incorrect answer because caveat emptor applies to buyers.

2)  Question # 398 - The REALTOR® Code of Ethics applies to which of the following?  (the exam guide says the answer is # 3, which is "all members of CREA") 

On page 12-8 (Phase 1 Book 2) it says that the REALTOR® Code of Ethics applies to all registrants (which would be # 4).  It does also mention that only those registrants who are members of CREA have agreed to abide by the CREA Code of Ethics. 

Answer: Excellent job catching this error. The question #398 has been corrected to ask ...

"The REALTOR® Code of Ethics has been agreed to by which of the following?" which as you note is the correct statement in the text.
 
3)  Question # 449 - Which of the following is not one of the areas covered under PIPEDA's substantive principles?  (the exam guide says the answer is # 3, which is "safeguards") On page 14-29 (Phase 1 Book 2) it says that both safeguards and accuracy are administrative principles, therefore # 3 or # 4 would be right.

Answer: You are absolutely correct both #3 and #4 are correct answers and the question will be reviewed, corrected or retired prior to the next printing. Thanks!
